Recently I was given a beautiful book by a very
Dear friend.
We both love old books especially poetry ones, in it I found this.
In Shakespeare’s day the country folk of Warwickshire called daffodils by the unusual name daffydowndilly,
and children chanted on their way to school:
Daff ~ A ~ Down Dilly
Has now come to town
in a yellow petticoat
and a green gown.
