These delicate little spring wedding flowers known as lily-of-the-valley have the sweetest of all perfumes in my opinion and are by far my favorite spring flower to incorporate in a bride’s bouquet. May lilies, ladders to heaven or Virgin’s tears of joy, are some of the old names given to this precious and delicate little flower.
Picking and using them for bouquets during the month of May, is a seasonal delight and luck is bestowed upon the bride that has them incorporated in their spring wedding bouquet.
Lilies-of-the-valley are quite dear in cost at our local flower market because they are tender little bells. Each spring I offer the crop from my cottage style cutting garden to one very lucky bride.
