When was the last time that you experienced a feeling of panic or anxiety regarding a meal for your family?
Accept the reality, it is a bleeding chore that never ends. Add to this, the fact that the role has typically fallen on us women in the family, some of whom don’t even enjoy or know how to cook, to complete this daily task.
Cooking every night, at times, can be debilitating to our mental state, trust me I know, and adds even more stress to our daily routine.
I’ll be honest, some days there is a definite plan and some days I just wing-it with what ever is available in the pantry and fridge.
So from years of having produced the meals here is my advice….always follow the
golden rule…
go with the flow and accept it like any other chore, this in turn will create balance in your slow home.
Put LOVE
into the mundane chores and enjoy the process…
a good approach for life in general, I believe.
We all possess the power to make life joyful in every regard.
So don’t take the power lightly.
Some of us are mothers and have loved ones depending on us for
health and balance.
Why not Perfect the opportunity to act as a
true role model in our home?
I remember when my boys were little, there were times when they’d see me finally sitting down and instinctively say to me,
“Mom I’m hungry”
with little pathetic faces so cute, how could I refuse.
I had a mission:
My lesson…show them what not to eat
while at the same time teach them what to eat.
Luckily I do love to cook.
However, I cook often, consciously and feed them real food.
I am mindful not to buy any
boxed or packaged prepared-for-shelf-life foods,
because they are heavily processed
and I follow these rules…
Some aren’t thrilled with the idea of cooking from scratch
and they might opt for convenience.
Every once in a while I do PIZZA to go, I’ve been there.
But I’ve learned good nutrition is the root of good health.
Where does your food come from? Can we be more mindful in our approach to feeding our family?
We are
what we eat.
